Box of Vinyl – adventures in collecting
Welcome to the machine

Welcome to the machine

I always wanted to say that.

My name is Chris, I’m an audio engineer, writer and producer. I built this box to hold some of the most amazing stories behind some of the most incredible music that you have – or have never heard.

I’m proud to say that VINYL LIFE is still a thing. It has survived decades of digital bashing and it still speaks of a simpler time when listening to music was more of an event rather than just a digital background track.

From the moment you heard THAT song on the radio, you know, the one that made you make a bee-line for the record store, to the moment you popped open the shrink wrap and smelled that fresh vinyl, you knew your life would be changed forever by the contents of those grooves.

It was ELECTRIC and the good news is, it still is.

That fact is, experiencing the music as a listener was indeed magical but, for the artists, engineers and producers – it was making history.

In this box of vinyl, I try to present those classic back stories and include some of my personal experiences collecting the wax and then well, I’ll let you decide where and when to drop the needle.
